Quick answer

A DriveCult set covers every side window, including the small rear quarter glass, and the With Dicky Curtain option adds the rear windshield. The panels hold on with magnets and fit in a couple of minutes with no tools.

Each set is made for one car model and generation, because window shapes change between generations. Clean the door frame, place the top edge first and let the magnets pull the frame into the window opening. The frames are rigid, so store them flat.

Magnetic curtains look simple, and they are, as long as you buy the right set and fit it properly. This guide covers which windows a set covers, how to make sure it is the right one for your car, and how to fit, remove and store the panels.

What a set covers

A standard DriveCult set has one framed mesh panel for each side window of your car. That includes the front door windows, the rear door windows and the small rear quarter glass behind the rear doors, which most universal shades skip. If you choose the With Dicky Curtain option, the set also includes a curtain for the rear windshield.

Pick the right set for your car

Window shapes change when a model gets a new generation, so curtains are made per generation, not per model name. A 2018 to 2022 Swift and a 2024 Swift have different windows and different curtain sets. Before you order, choose your make, model and year in the car finder or check the year range in the product title. If you are not sure which generation your car is, the registration certificate shows the year it was made.

How to fit them

  • Open the door and wipe the inside of the window frame so there is no dust or grit.
  • Hold the panel with the mesh facing into the car and line up its shape with the window opening.
  • Place the top edge first. The magnets will pull it onto the metal of the door frame.
  • Press around the sides and bottom so the whole frame sits flush inside the opening.
  • Repeat for each window. A full set usually takes two or three minutes.

Removing and storing them

To take a panel off, lift it from one bottom corner and it will come away from the magnets. The frames are rigid so the panels keep their shape and fit cleanly every time. That also means they do not fold, so store them flat in the boot, behind a seat or in a seat-back pocket.

If a panel does not sit right

A panel that leaves a gap or will not sit flat is almost always for a different generation, or is on the wrong door. Front and rear panels look alike, so check the shape against the window. If it is the right panel and still does not sit, message us with your car and year and a photo, and we will sort it out under the fit guarantee.

When to use them

Put every panel up when the car is parked in the sun to keep the seats and steering wheel cooler. On the move, use the rear curtains for passengers and children and keep the front windows clear. Our guide on whether car curtains are legal in India explains why. If you are still choosing between curtains and film, read magnetic curtains vs sun film vs roller shades.

The bottom line

Buy the set made for your exact car generation, fit the top edge first and keep the frames clean. That is all it takes for the panels to sit flush in every window and come off in seconds. Find the magnetic curtains made for your car.

Expert verdict

Getting the generation right matters more than anything else. A set made for your exact car sits flush inside every window opening and stays put, while a set for the wrong year will leave gaps or not sit at all. Check your car's year range in the finder, keep the door frames clean, and the panels will go on and off in seconds for years.

Frequently asked questions

Do magnetic curtains cover the quarter glass?
Yes. A DriveCult set includes a panel for the small rear quarter glass as well as every door window. Universal shades usually leave this window bare.
What does With Dicky Curtain mean?
It adds a curtain for the rear windshield (the back glass above the boot, which many people call the dicky). The standard set covers the side windows only.
Do magnetic curtains damage the paint or door trim?
No glue, screws or clips are used, so nothing is left behind. The magnets sit on the inside of the door frame. Wipe away grit before fitting so nothing gets trapped between the frame and the panel.
Will curtains for my car fit a different year of the same model?
Not always. Window shapes often change when a model gets a new generation, so a 2018 Swift and a 2024 Swift need different sets. Pick your exact year range on the product page or in the car finder.
Can the curtains be folded for storage?
No. The panels have a rigid frame so they keep their shape and fit cleanly. Store them flat, in the boot, behind a seat or in the seat-back pocket.
